Service monitoring and dns fail over

The Microtech netmon service continually checks the availability and performance of your dns dependant services from independent connections worldwide.

Any availability issues will be quickly detected and we'll notify you via email, instant messaging, SMS, or any combination of these. In conjunction with our DNS services, fail over dns to an alternative server if desired, re-direct the user to another URL anywhere, or display a custom web page if there is a problem with your site. We also support escalation of outstanding outages to alternate recipients and contact methods.

The use of multiple servers in different worldwide locations to perform the testing means false positives are kept to a minimum. The majority of servers must agree that the service is down for a notification to be sent.

Current tests include POP, SMTP, HTTP, IMAP, FTP, Telnet, SSH, DNS, and more. We also have a probe you can use on client servers to monitor free disk space, services, cpu usage etc.
